I am passionate about ensuring that all our clients have the opportunity to achieve the best possible outcomes and remain as independent as their abilities allow them to be.

The choices and wishes of the client are always at the centre of their care plan and it’s my job to ensure we adapt our care to suit their individual choices.

Meeting the clients personally is very important to me, as it allows me to understand their personality as well as their needs and wishes; it’s also important for the client to know me and feel comfortable calling me for any reason.

I feel that having a happy team is vital to the work we do. I actively support our CareGivers to feel fulfilled within their role and we have regular meetings so everyone has the opportunity to discuss their experiences, ideas and expectations.

Personal development for the CareGivers is also important and I give everyone the opportunity to develop within their role and to advance at their own pace within the organisation.

I began my own career in the care sector 20 years ago as a care support worker; this suited me perfectly as I really enjoyed supporting people to remain in their own homes and allowing them to be as independent as possible. I was also able to fit around my three young children so I could be there for them while I managed my own career.

I progressed to become a care co-ordinator and I enjoyed this role as it required me to think about matching carers’ skills and personalities to the clients’ needs and wishes.

After I gained my Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care I progressed to my first Registered Manager’s position. I would now consider myself an experienced manager, having worked in the role for a number of years. My passion is to manage a service that is a high quality service that we can all be proud of.
