I have worked in the health and social care sector throughout my career, having decided at an early age that I was very keen to influence the daily lives of people needing additional support or care.
My first involvement with helping others was at Wansbeck General Hospital, followed by working with North Tyne and Wear NHS alongside psychiatric nurses and specialists dealing with individuals with mental health disorders. I also worked with a large, local home care provider initially in front-line care and progressing to overseeing recruitment and personnel selection, conducting supervisories and competency assessments for staff and service users, implementing policy and procedure compliance along with risk assessments and training.
I have also gained a BS(c) Hons in Health and Social care together with the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Health and Social care.

Although I’ve only been at Right at Home Tyneside a short time, the ethos of the business that was portrayed at interview has proved to be spot-on. It is a business where everyone consistently goes the extra mile for its clients and sees its carers as its biggest asset.
