Ken Deary established Right at Home in the UK in 2010, having experienced the difficulties of finding good care for an immediate family member first-hand.
He knew that in America, where Right at Home has more than 350 offices and 20 years experience, care companies delivered a very different promise – ensuring that their clients’ dignity, independence and personal choices remained their top priority at all times.
After an intense few months of preparation, Ken and a small but dedicated team finalised the policies and procedures needed to deliver this new method of highly personalised, professional homecare in the UK.
The first office opened in Preston, Lancashire; quickly received its registration from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), getting their best possible rating (Good) for the initial inspection, and began delivering homecare services in April 2010.
In 2011 Ken began seeking like-minded people to open Right at Home offices across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our list of locations is increasing all the time, although growth will come slowly, as it is vitally important that we find the right people to deliver the right support with the right values and ethics.
We were delighted with the services we received from Right at Home. Everything was done to give us peace of mind, especially the night I was in hospital knowing that my wife would be cared for with professional understanding. The carer was like a beacon of light when she entered our home and Right at Home will be the first on our list when we require home care services again.
