Staff at the Right at Home Brentwood, Billericay & Havering home care office will be delivering free companionship to isolated older people in support of Radio 1’s #1millionhours campaign.
The aim of the campaign is to get a lot of people to each do a little bit to help address some of the challenges in our society.
And one of these challenges is very close to the hearts of the care team working at Right at Home, who deliver home care to adults and seniors living in Brentwood, Billericay, Basildon, Havering and the surrounding areas.
Owner John Walsh said: “We want to help put an end to the loneliness and isolation that is experienced by a lot of older people.
“Offering people companionship is an important element of our client care, it’s at the heart of every visit we make, but there are many people living right under our noses who do not receive any home care and may not see or spend time with anyone else for days upon end.
“Radio 1’s campaign is a great opportunity for us to give a little bit of our own time to extend the benefits of companionship to these people.
“We fully agree with Radio 1 that just a few hours of someone’s time can change the life of someone in need.”
Right at Home has 32 offices across the UK and its care teams have challenged themselves to pledge 500 hours in support of Radio 1’s #1millionhours campaign.
Owners, manager and staff will be working with Age UK and other local charities to help older people in their local communities, over the Christmas period and in 2016.
