Field Care Supervisor, Right at Home Bristol

After spending several years unemployed and trying to decide what career I wanted I joined a charity where I mainly attended events (such as Horse Trials, Bristol Zoo, Gymkhana etc) to provide first aid support. After spending a few years with the charity my housemate suggested I applied for a job in care.

I gained employment at Barrow Pshychiatric hospital as a Healthcare Assistant on a ward, I liked the variety of cases i would come across each day and loved that every day was different and would present new challenges for us to overcome.

I left my job at the hospital to study a Diploma at University and become a Registered Mental Health Nurse. I was a nurse for several years and then left to join a care agency, due to lack of work I applied to another care agency where I worked for a while before being made redundant, this is when I found Right at Home.

I joined the team at the Bristol branch in June 2017 as a Caregiver, I was then promoted in October 2022 to Field Care Supervisor, I was very pleased to be offered the position.

My favourite thing about this job is getting to meet clients and learning about them and their lives, I also enjoy the feeling I get when I know I am making a difference to someones life.
