These are some of the snaps from our day out with the Willow Trust in September last year, when we took 16 of our clients and family that we support, on a days’ boat trip.
We set off at 8am, collecting all the guests ready for the journey up to Saul Junction where we would be greeted by the volunteer team from Willow Trust.
The volunteers helped all the clients off the buses and safely on to the boat making us all feel very welcome and then we were off.
We settled down into our seats and then it was the in-voyage safety brief which gave us lots of information about the boat and its safety features.
Soon it was time for our tea and coffee orders and whilst having refreshments some of our guests ventured out on deck to take in the beautiful scenery. Before we knew, it was time for lunch with freshly home-made sandwiches, savoury snacks, cakes and fresh fruit washed down with some more tea, coffee and squash. A few of our guests took turns to steer the boat and I have to say that they were pretty good.
We turned for home and cruised back down the river enjoying the wildlife and the many conversations and memories. We had a lovely day and for once, the weather was nice and all enjoyed the day.
I can’t wait to start organising this years trip.
