Our CQC Inspection Report

Camberley CQC Inspection rating
Right at Home Camberley Inspection Certificate

We have been praised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in its recent inspection of our services, for delivering high quality care that promotes independence, dignity and respect.

The CQC monitor what we do to ensure that we continue to deliver the best possible care and support to all our clients. We are pleased and proud to say that we did exceptionally well, celebrating a rating of ‘Good’ in all areas following the CQC recently toughening up its inspection criteria, and we would like to thank all of our clients who gave the inspector such wonderful comments.

The report noted that our clients received consistent support from regular, kind and caring workers who knew their needs well, never missed a visit and always communicated if they were running late. They noted that we worked co-operatively with families, discussing any changes or concerns over the clients’ well-being, and that our clients said they had good relationships with their care workers and looked forward to their visits.

As part of their inspection, the CQC inspector spoke to clients, staff and relatives, and the responses they received were consistently positive. One client said “They’ve been brilliant; I’m really happy with them. I enjoy a laugh and a joke with them.” One relative told inspectors “Mum has formed friendships with ‘her girls’ which has made personal care a much more comfortable experience. Their tactfulness and discretion meant her confidence was maintained.” Another relative told the inspector, “I would have no hesitation in recommending Right at Home. Their attitudes go a long way to supporting Mum’s well-being and confidence. I have never had a second’s concern about the carers regarding their honesty or their care.” Another said, “The carers always show respect for Mum and her possessions. They never forget they are working in Mum’s home. Mum is consulted as to her wishes regarding her meals, her shopping for food and personal items, what she wants to wear. If a carer is present when I arrive, they always offer to make me a drink, enabling Mum to be the hostess she always used to be.”

“We are delighted that the CQC inspectors recognised that clients received highly-personalised support services that were sensitive to their individual needs.” said Bob Thornton, Managing Director.

“I feel immensely proud of my team for the outcome of this report and the fantastic comments we received. This has been a wonderful reward for all the hard work put in, not only by our Registered Manager Michelle Whittle, but all of the office team and the wonderful care staff who place our clients’ well-being at the heart of everything they do. Our team is made up of people who really do care about the work they do. They are always compassionate, polite and respectful and they all share our values about promoting independence, dignity and respect,” he said.

“We focus on giving longer visit times, which gives us better relationships between our caregivers and clients. That’s what sets us apart – because quite a lot of our clients are affected by dementia, we don’t want to rush them. We are not about going quickly from one client to another.”

“I am looking forward to keeping our high quality of care, and the main thing now is for us to continue the high standards and to continue to get better.”
