Maybe your children have flown the nest or you’re looking for a change in career? Perhaps you are looking for a part-time job now your son or daughter has started school, or you care for a family member and want to turn your skills into a new career.

At Right at Home Chippenham, we are currently recruiting for CareGivers to join our new office, covering Chippenham, Melksham, Corsham, Calne, Trowbridge & Devizes. We are committed to creating jobs for people who genuinely care and want to help other people on a daily basis, whether you can do this full-time or part-time, we want to hear from you!

We understand that starting a new career can be daunting, so we’ve put together some of the frequently asked questions we receive on becoming a Right at Home CareGiver.

 Do I need previous experience?

No – if you’re a kind and caring person then that’s all we ask! We provide full and thorough training which includes shadowing existing CareGivers on visits to Clients, so you know exactly what is expected of you when you are out and about in the local community delivering care, and feel confident in your new role.

Are caring roles only for women?

We get asked this a lot, and the answer is no! We employ both male and female CareGivers of all ages.

Do CareGivers only provide care in someone’s home?

Whilst we provide care to people living in the comfort of their own home, quite often our CareGivers will support Clients in activities outside of the home, such as a trip to the shops or the hairdressers. We get to know our Clients, their interests, likes and dislikes, and tailor their care packages accordingly to meet their needs and ultimately, improve their quality of life.

What types of services do CareGivers provide?

At Right at Home, we offer a whole range of services from supporting people to attend local community events and helping people transition from hospital-to-home through to personal care and full-time live in care. You can find out more about the different services we offer here.

I’ve heard being a CareGiver is a very fast paced job & you have to rush to get everything done?

Right at Home operate a one hour minimum policy, so you’ll always have the appropriate amount of time with a client to achieve their daily goals in a person centred way. We also ensure your working days are properly planned with sufficient travel time allocated between Client visits. This way both you and your Clients don’t feel rushed or pressured & can enjoy your time together.

 Are there opportunities to progress?

Absolutely! As well as a dedicated team of CareGivers who are delivering care to the community, we also have senior roles such as Senior CareGivers and Field Supervisors. There are also a number of office-based roles available such as Administrative roles, Care Coordinator, Deputy Manager and Registered Manager. We always try to promote within our existing team, and usually it’s experienced CareGivers who have made the transition into these office-based roles. Our goal is to develop our business and our team members – as we grow, we want you to grow too and reach your full potential.
