Kelvedon

Kelvedon is a vilage in Essex situated near the town of Witham. The village – a fomer Roman settlment called Canonium – is located near the A12 and has excellent links to Colchester and London and beyond. With a high street full of independent shops, a national construction company and the popular Railway Inn, Kelevedon is an intriguing village to meander around. The Feering and Kelvedon Local History Museum was opened in 1975 and houses a number of items of archaeological interest, social and local history.

Flatford Mill, Dedham Vale

Flatford Mill offers attractive walks along the river and hot and cold drinks in the tearoom in the nearby granary (plus a well-stocked gift shop!). This is a National Trust property has a wonderful nature reserve with a beautiful wildlife garden. Colchester Zoo, Colchester

Colchester Zoo is constantly developing and has won many awards for its work. With over 270 species to see, set in 60 acres of beautiful parkland and lakes, Colchester Zoo is well worth a visit.
