Scott MacRae

Right at Home Maidenhead - Director

My name is Scott MacRae – excited owner and part of the team at Right at Home Maidenhead and I am thrilled to be putting something back into the local community I have lived in for the past 40 years, I went to school at Burnham Grammar some years ago!

My lovely wife Isabelle works locally and my children Cameron and Alice have gone are going to school in Maidenhead. When I am not chauffeuring them around, I have taken up longer walks with Isabelle and I like to play golf at Burnham Beeches.

After 25 years in the electronics industry, recently as Sales Director for an American company, I felt it was time for a direction change.

My father had care at home during his last days and I saw how much it helped my mother and us as a family, it kept him home to his last days which is what he wanted.  I started doing some volunteer work looking after older people with memory loss and saw that there is a ‘right’ way of offering care, with dignity and respect.  This approach is entrenched in our ethos of giving quality care in a minimum of one hour visits and with a continuity of carers. This is why I opened Right at Home in Maidenhead.

I think it is important to give the same service you would expect for yourself or one of your loved ones. With the right care in our own homes, a person can maintain their independence and quality of life for longer.

This is what we promise to do at Right at Home, Maidenhead.

I am passionate especially about how important it is for people with dementia to live in their own home and remain independent for as long as possible.

I am a trustee at People 2 Places a local charity that delivers independence and tackling isolation in and around the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

I have volunteered with the Alzheimers Society in Maidenhead and Windsor and fund raise for the local charity Alzheimers Dementia Support. We also support other local charities Sequela Foundation,  the Stroke club, and   Elizabeth House .
