Naveed wins employee of the month for January 2023

Naveed won our first Employee of the Month award for 2023 for his outstanding care, he receives lots of compliments takes on extra work. He is a real asset to Right at Home Maidenhead.

Tell me a little bit about yourself?

I am Naveed Amjad from Pakistan move to UK back in 2013 and eventually after finishing my MBA went back to Pakistan, worked for some project management And then moved to Qatar in Qatar Airways as customer service ground staff, worked there a while but decided to move to UK because of toxic work environment in Qatar and thus due to corona couldn't fill up the career needs as soon as i get back to UK. I have studied healthcare in 2015 but now feels like the best time to play a vital role in this industry for a better career.

What were your first impressions of Right at Home? 

It was amazing, the interaction with management was wonderful, even in the recruitment process. Felt like moving in the right direction.

Did you have any previous experience in care before you joined? 

No, I didn't had any official experience in the care but personally had it with in the family which really helps me to cope with this work very easily.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time when you are not caring? 

To spend time with family, going around different places.

What has surprised you most about working at Right at Home? 

The encouragement and support was really surprising for me. Getting a party invitation and  thank you cards in the post helps me and my family to keep up with the good work as well.

What is the most challenging thing about being a carer? 

To deal with people who are mentally challenged in a way because they are old and thus it's best to go down in to their level and work with them with patience.

What do you enjoy most about working at Right at Home? 

I enjoyed the flexible timing, the management response on any issues or complaints, support given by the office.

What did you do before joining Right at Home?  

I was working as a retail supervisor in a store in London 

What might we be surprised to know about you? 

Soon you guys will see me in a managerial position. 

What would you tell someone who is thinking about joining the team? 

I would even go extra mile to train and teach him before hand that what we do and what he can expect from the company and team members, which he/she might have never experienced.

How do you think clients would describe you? 

Easy going, calm personality, polite, respectful, tech guy, responsible, punctual, confident, passionate and reliable.

Tell me how you first got involved with Right at Home? 

My wife's Friend encouraged and informed me about this company. Which turns out to be now the best advice someone has given me in ages.
