Homecare provider Right at Home Solent has overcome tough competition to make the final of the 2020 Skills for Care Accolades. The annual awards – now in their 16th year – reward social care organisations who invest in their workforce so they can offer high quality services.

The team has been nominated in the Best Employer of Between 51 and 249 staff category, which was open to over 18,500 adult social care employers in England. Right at Home Solent will find out if they have won the national award at the Accolades ceremony in London on Wednesday 22nd January 2020, which will be hosted by TV dance legend Anton du Beke.

Right at Home Solent – which is rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission – provides high quality care and support to adults wishing to continue living independently in the comfort of their own home. It offers a wide range of services, from companionship, personal care and medication reminders through to specialist dementia care and full-time live-in care.

Commenting on the shortlisting, Right at Home Solent owners Kev and Amy Popat said: “We are thrilled to be shortlisted for this national award. We have a fantastic team in place and we really value and recognise how they go above and beyond to deliver truly person-centred care which makes a real difference to our Clients’ quality of life.”

Interim Skills for Care CEO, Andy Tilden, said: “My congratulations to the team at Right at Home Solent. Our accolade awards are open to thousands of organisations who offer care and support across England so to even make the final is a huge achievement.

“Competition in this category is fierce, but the judges were impressed by the way Right at Home Solent offers its workers learning and development opportunities at every stage of their careers, which means they can deliver high quality care that meets the individual needs of the people they work with.”

Right at Home Solent has celebrated a number of successes in the past 12 months, with the office scooping the Customer Engagement Award and highly-coveted Franchisee of the Year Award at the British Franchise Awards in June 2019 and was named a 5* Employer by the independent research company, WorkBuzz, in April.
