Right at Home South Liverpool teams up with local primary school to keep Clients’ spirits up during the coronavirus outbreak

Clients of Right at Home South Liverpool have been surprised by pupils at a nearby school, with goodies to cheer them up whilst they remain indoors during the coronavirus outbreak.

Last week, budding artists at Northcote Primary School created a ‘bouquet’ for 96-year old Client, Eileen, along with letters to keep her spirits up whilst self-isolating.

A few days later, much to the delight of the pupils, Eileen’s daughter wrote back, thanking them for their kindness and for making her mother smile during this difficult time and Eileen also sent a letter to the children.

All of the pupils are children of frontline workers. The school has since created more cards and written letters for other Clients of Right at Home.

Heather Keep, National People and Brand Development Manager at Right at Home UK’s National Office, facilitated the partnership, putting her friend Kim Manley, a teacher at Northcote Primary School, in touch with Mark James, owner of Right at Home South Liverpool.

Kim was thrilled to be approached and said: “We were happy to show our care and support for the community, as an expression of our school motto: caring, learning, growing. We have worked in partnership with Right at Home who, like us, aim to make a difference every day. The children in our hub wrote letters, made cards and coloured pictures for their Clients in isolation. Companionship and building relationships are key at this time, and we endeavour to continue to keep our community smiling.”

At Right at Home, we have been blown away by the acts of kindness we’ve seen in our local communities during this difficult time. A big thank you to Kim and the businesses, organisations and individuals that have been in touch to see how they can support us to continue delivering care to those who need it most.
