Right at Home Nottingham is awarded highest possible CQC rating

Right at Home Nottingham has been awarded the highest possible rating for its quality homecare services by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) – the independent regulator for all health and social care services in England. The CQC inspected Right at Home Nottingham, based in West Bridgford, in April 2019.

The service supports adults who live with disabilities, older people and people living with dementia in their own homes. At the time of inspection, it was supporting 23 people.

Rob Assall-Marsden, CQC head of inspection for Adult Social Care in the central region, said: “Every person we spoke to who used this service said that staff were very caring, treating them with dignity and respect.

“Staff showed empathy when supporting people who were coming to terms with changes in their health and mobility.

“We heard about one person who found the prospect of needing carers daunting, but staff worked hard to help them retain independence and boost their self-esteem.

“Staff worked hard to find out what mattered to people, and they reflected this in care plans. One person was visited five times by staff to find out about their life history and interests.

“The service adopted this diligent approach as helping people engage with good memories has a positive impact on their health and wellbeing.

“We saw that the service’s leadership set the right priorities for staff, and it had effective processes in place to deliver excellent care.

“People benefitted from the exceptional training staff received, and management proactively sought feedback from people and staff to shape the future of the service. Staff told us they worked for this service because of its commitment to putting people at the heart of their care.

“All of this meant people received a high standard of care, which is why it has been rated Outstanding.”

Christopher Tansley, managing director of Right at Home Nottingham, said: “Building the right team has been critical in our recent achievement and everyone has played their part here at Right at Home Nottingham.

“It was very emotional when we received the report knowing that our commitment and dedication to quality had now been recognised by the CQC. Personalised home support is an integral part of our trusted health service in the UK and our clients deserve nothing less.

“We will continue to focus on developing as a group and welcome others who perhaps want a more rewarding career to join team Outstanding.”

Right at Home Nottingham is the 8th office in the Right at Home network to achieve an Outstanding CQC rating within the last 15 months.
