Right at Home North Somerset have been awarded the ‘Covid Super Hero Award’ at the regional finals of the Great British Care Awards.

The award combines the ‘Covid Social Care Hero’ award and the ‘Care Team Award’ and was won by Pat Reid and the Right at Home team after Pat refused to be given the award as a single winner, and insisted that the continued thriving of the company throughout the pandemic
was a team effort.

Pat, Training and Development Manager, has helped to ensure staff are appropriately supported in their jobs and her team describe her as ‘an absolute rock throughout turbulent times, calm, open and understanding’.

Pat Reid said: “We have an outstanding team of enthusiastic carers, who worked incredibly hard to ensure that our clients were kept in good health and good spirits throughout this time. We supported each other and encouraged each other through the ups and downs of the pandemic and it has been an absolute privilege to be part of such an amazing Right at Home team.”

The Right at Home team has consistently received excellent feedback throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, with clients describing it as being ‘more like a member of a large, extended family’ and staff retention at an all time high with 98% of staff saying they are proud to work for Right at Home North Somerset.

Micala Small, Right at Home Registered Manager, had this to say: ‘I am continually overwhelmed by the dedication from the team and the amount they all pull together, they truly are remarkable. I am glad that our contributions are being recognised externally. I know the
pandemic has hit some people hard, but we haven’t just survived, we have thrived.’

Grant Attwood, Managing Director of Right at Home North Somerset said: “ We are privileged to have such a strong care team delivering such high standards, we feel their hard work and resilience throughout the pandemic needs to be recognised.”

The Right at Home North Somerset team will now go forward to the national awards in March.
