Home care inspired by good old fashioned values

The National Health Service turned 75 last week, the anniversary being greeted with caution and dire warnings that without drastic change it might not endure or be held in such high regard for much longer. When the NHS was created the main focus was on the people it served, providing a personal connection for both the people receiving healthcare and those working in it. This kind of culture has inspired generations to follow their calling and contribute to helping the people in our community.

From front line Nurses to GPs, to Social Workers and Community Health Care Workers; the appeal is about truly making a difference to others.

Our Managing Director, Christopher Tansley, saw first-hand the impact these individuals can make, as he witnessed his Mum, Julia, work in healthcare at the QMC (Queen’s Medical Centre).

Inspired by the impact Julia and her colleagues made in  , Christopher opened Right at Home Nottingham in 2013. He had a clear vision and aim of providing only the highest quality home  and surrounding areas to the elderly and adults.

In order to do this, for the last 10 years Christopher and our team have been making the following promises to every single one of our Clients and their loved ones.

Our Clients will always be greeted by a familiar face during their care visits. We ensure each Client receives lots of information about their CareGivers before meeting them, so there’s no surprises!

Providing high quality care is about more than just knowing someone’s medical requirements.  For us, it’s knowing every Client as an individual, knowing their likes, dislikes, goals and ambitions - so we can really make a difference.

Ensuring Clients are matched with CareGivers with similar personalities, who can consistently provide their care means we can reduce unnecessary stress, build personal relationships and aim to improve both physical and mental wellbeing over time.

Our bespoke care packages mean you receive care when you want it, in a way that suits your lifestyle and daily activities.

When assessing the support required for each Client it is important that they choose the time that suits their preferred daily routines. Once this has been agreed, we like to keep this routine for our Clients, to cause as little disruption to their lives as possible.

We also understand that quality care cannot be rushed. During the care assessment, our trained team assesses the time required for each care visit, taking into account the tasks that each Client is able to do themself, and those they may require that bit of extra support with.

For many of our Clients, it’s important we support and enable them to continue doing lots of tasks themselves. This allows them to maintain independence and stay in their own homes for as long as possible. This continued involvement in activities is also proven to have positive impacts on both physical and cognitive wellbeing of individuals.

Backed by experience and knowledge

Right at Home effectively communicates and works alongside other local healthcare settings and professionals to get the best possible outcome for our Clients. This requires seamless teamwork and a dedication to being reactive to new daily information and any changes in circumstances. Those working in healthcare know this is often the key to making crucial decisions, with the wellbeing of the Client at the forefront.

Each of our CareGivers receive industry-leading, in-depth training before they provide care to any of our Clients. Our continued learning and development programme also means these individuals can continue to upskill and specialise, whilst gaining hands-on experience in the field too.

We are incredibly proud to have the rating of   which validates our professional culture, and commitment to Clients, CareGivers and the community. This would not be possible without our whole team working together, reflecting and acting upon changing information, adapting to potential challenges. This requires the utmost resilience, and is what we think is their superpower.

Home Care In West Bridgford

FAQs

What does full-time homecare involve?

Live-in care can take several forms but in essence, one of our Nottingham -based Carers takes up residence in your own home and provides you with care whilst living with you.

Live-in care allows you to continue living in the comfort of your own home, surrounded by your treasured possessions, with a CareGiver available to assist you with your usual daily routine. With a live-in CareGiver, you will also have a trusted, friendly face to share activities and hobbies with. Many of our Clients spend time with their Carer outside of the home to enjoy a stroll around Rushcliffe Country Park or to take part in other community-based activities.

Our live-in care services in Nottingham are a real alternative to moving into a care home. Full-time homecare can provide you with the care and support you need to remain living safely at home.

Why choose live-in care over residential care?

The primary benefit of live-in care is that our Clients are able to continue living at home in Nottingham. Staying in their own home can offer a vital level of familiarity, particularly for those living with dementia or a condition that can cause confusion.

What’s more, live-in care enables our local CareGivers to build a relationship with their Client. Your CareGiver will work closely with you to understand your routine and needs and you will benefit from the reassurance that there is another person in the house who will be able to assist you with care and household tasks.

What’s the difference between live-in care and 24-hour care at home?

Live-in care is where a CareGiver lives with you in your own home. Your live-in CareGiver will support you with your daily routine, which may include helping you to get washed and dressed, preparing meals, accompanying you out in the community and general housekeeping. Your live-in CareGiver will have breaks during the day to relax and enjoy some free time and will go to sleep during the evening. For Clients who need regular care during the night, or require someone on hand at all times, a team of Carers can provide around-the-clock support so families have peace of mind that their loved one’s needs are taken care of 24-hours a day.

How much does a live-in carer cost?

The cost of our homecare is calculated based on each Client’s individual needs. In some circumstances Local Authorities can help to pay for live-in care. For more information, take a look at Rushcliffe Borough CouncilNottingham City CouncilGedling Borough Council or Broxtowe Borough Council’s website for more information.

We are often asked whether live-in homecare is cheaper than a nursing home or assisted living. Live-in care is a cost-effective alternative to a residential care home. Your live-in CareGiver will take up residence in your home for an agreed period to provide one-to-one support and the cost will vary depending on the types of care you require.
