Our Outstanding Care Angels

Our Care & Compliance Manager has been working for Right at home Oxford the longest.

She is in the care industry in UK for more than 10 years, and brought her experience and knowledge to Right at Home Oxford and was happy answering some questions about herself and her work life.

Let's meet our Care & Compliance Manager!

 

1. Where did I start and where am I now?

"I started my home journey for a private family when I moved to the UK and ever since I have worked in care, I have worked as a carer, senior carer, deputy manager and worked my way up to registered manager in care homes, I started my journey in home care with Right at Home Oxford in 2021 as care coordinator and now I am the care manager, and been promoted to the Registered Manager.

2.First impressions of Right at Home Oxford?

The team work, dedication and the CQC outstanding achievement, this meant they knew how to care and do things that were required to run a successful home care company.

3. How do I feel about working for an CQC Outstanding company?

Very proud and want nothing more than to keep our outstanding rating.

4.How committed am I to continue Outstanding rating?

I am very committed and aim to keep our outstanding.

5.Why do I want to work for Right at Home Oxford?

The value system, beliefs, the culture and the commitment shown from the company and the owners Maria and Lenny. We have a “No blame, No judgement” culture and we are so committed to developing our care angels to be the best they can be.

6.Why did I choose care?

I have a passion for helping the elders, I want nothing more than to give back to them and to ensure they have the best of what’s left of their lives.

7.Why do I love my job?

I love my job as it gives me satisfaction knowing our clients are well looked after and always receive outstanding care. Our clients may not have family or see others knowing we can give them comfort and companionship, taking them out means a lot to me and seeing them happy makes me happy! I am well supported in all the difficult decisions I have to make by the staff and the owners.

8.What are my Values?

Honestly, loyalty, respect and dedication are my biggest values.

9.My background?

I was born in South Africa, my family are from the uk, Wales and Greece. I come from a very big family, but they all spread out and don’t get to see them as much as I like, I have lived in the Uk for over 13 years, I have a daughter who is the light of my life.

10.Interesting or fun fact about me?

I am a twin and have a very close bond with my sister, I am adventurous grew up riding horses and being in the outdoors. My career started in the UK with care as my very first job was supporting a lady who was The Hon Mrs Julian Berry, her husband Col the Hon Julian Berry, OBE, JP,DL a scion of the Viscounts Camrose

11.What is important to me?

My daughter and family will always be and ensuring I can provide a happy and balance life for my child.

12.My hobbies and interests?

I enjoy the outdoors going to the beach and swimming, horse riding. Animals are a big part of our lives since growing up. I enjoy spending time in the garden on sunny days with family and having BBQ's. "
