Right at Home High Wycombe is awarded Outstanding CQC rating

High Wycombe based homecare provider achieves highest possible overall rating from the Care Quality Commission.

Homecare provider Right at Home High Wycombe has received an official rating of ‘Outstanding’ from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care services in England.

The business has joined an exclusive club of homecare providers to receive an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the CQC, which reflects the high-quality care and support provided to its 40 Clients across High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, The Chalfont’s, Great Missenden, Stokenchurch and much of South Buckinghamshire.

Right at Home becomes the only homecare provider in Wycombe District to hold the top CQC grading and one of only three across all of Buckinghamshire. Nationally, just 7% of homecare providers are graded as Outstanding.

According to the CQC report, published in late May 2019, “Right at Home was exceptional at placing Clients at the heart of its service and values. We saw and were told of many examples of staff going ‘above and beyond’ to help support Clients they care for.”

Deborah Ivanova, Deputy Chief Inspector for Adult Social Care, said: “People were receiving exceptional care with services being developed and tailored to their needs and at the same time treating people with kindness, compassion and respect.”

During the inspection CQC representatives spoke with six Right at Home CareGivers, five Clients and seven family members as well as the Registered Manager, Business Owner and an external Care Professional.

The report mentions one Client, who spoke of her delight at being taken to her granddaughter’s wedding in Sussex and the positive effect this had on her wellbeing: “It made me feel absolutely wonderful to see my granddaughter getting married. I was a bit worried that I wouldn’t of been able to get there. But they supported me all day and it was marvellous. It made me feel so proud, it was amazing. They are a first-class service.”

Another Client stated: “I honestly can’t believe how lucky I am to have carers who I get on with and share so many things in common with. Nothing is ever too much.”

Feedback the inspector received from relatives included: “They are genuinely interested in mum’s needs. We are very much involved in everything, they are really good at keeping us updated.”

Right at Home’s team of CareGivers and office staff were also very complementary about the support provided to them by management. The report quotes one member of staff saying: “The induction and training has been second to none, I have learnt so much and feel equipped to do my job well”, another said: “They are always asking me if I need further support or training. The management team here are top notch.”

Samantha Wright, owner of Right at Home High Wycombe commented: “We are ecstatic with this result, particularly as this is our first ever inspection. Our number one focus is to improve the quality of life of our Clients and for this to be recognised formally is an amazing feeling. We have a wonderful team of CareGivers and office staff whom we couldn’t do this without so a big thank you to them for their continued dedication and all their hard work.”
