Hi, my name is Nicola,
I am proud to say that I am the Registered manager for Right at Home, Bridgend and Vale of Glamorgan their values and ethos are the same as I have always believed in.
I have over 25 years’ experience in the care sector, firstly as a Careworker in nursing homes then moving onto Community care. It was a very good foundation for me to learn and improve my skills and knowledge. The last 13 years have been spent as a Registered Manager with another Provider during this time I gained more valuable skills and qualifications.
I am qualified in Manual handling, First Aid and Managing Safely, I use this experience and knowledge to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the staff and Individuals in my care are met. Ensuring that as far as practicably possible I reduce risks and hazards, enabling everyone to work in a safe manner.
Quality of care is utmost. The Individual and their needs are the most important things to me. They will have their care delivered in an appropriate dignified manner.
I am Passionate and Dedicated to improving the quality of the lives of the people in my care. From a simple cup of tea to more complex care needs. Making a positive difference to someone’s day makes me feel happy and fulfilled.
I am married to Chris we have four children and five Grandchildren. Our family life is very busy, not to mention our gorgeous but manic Shih Tzu Lucie who rules all of us. She even shepherds the Grandchildren from danger but more especially away from her food bowl.
My other passion is rugby, I follow our local team and (much to my husband’s dismay) The Ospreys as he says I should follow Cardiff Blues.
I love cooking in any shape or form watching, reading, and baking . I also enjoy reading to relax and walking the dog for exercise for both of us.
