Why is companionship important?

Companionship has huge benefits to the mental and physical health and wellbeing of a person, no matter what age they are. People need social interaction and it is an important factor in preventing isolation and loneliness in the elderly

At Right at Home, we believe that companionship is very important and recognise that whilst completing daily activities for our clients, having a friendly and trusted visitor to talk to is also a vital part of what we do and can put a smile on someone’s face.

I have a carer come in every weekday, although when requested she comes in at weekends which I find most helpful. At other times she has taken me out to coffee shops, garden centres and hairdressers. I would be very happy to recommend these carers to friends and relatives.
